President's Statement of BRICI
Beneath the Yanshan mountain, alongside the Phoenix pavilion, locates the Yanshan Branch of Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry (BRICI), who dedicates three generations’ careers to the scientific research and technologic innovation for the production and development of SINOPEC. Having been developing for nearly five decades, we have special advantages on catalytic materials, fine chemicals and synthetic rubbers, where many achievements, known home and abroad, such as silver catalyst, hydrogenation catalyst, ethane trimerization to 1-hexene, MTBE synthesis and pyrolysis, and synthetic SBS, SBR, IR, and IIR were obtained. Abiding by and passing on the fine tradition of “hard working for pioneering, win honor for motherland, keep striving for advancement, and make effort to innovate”, we have been an important research institute of chemical engineering and materials in SINOPEC, and have been making contribution to the social and economic development of our country.
At present, as China’s economic development has entered a “new normal”, SINOPEC is also in the progress of transitional development, which puts forward new requests for the research on chemical materials. Therefore, Yanshan Branch has proceeded into a new development stage, confronting many new opportunities and challenges. The five development strategies- “value-oriented, innovation-driven, integrated resource allocation, open cooperation, and green and low-carbon growth”, proposed by SINOPEC, is the guideline for our development.
In the future, Yanshan Branch will thoroughly implement China’s President Xi’s thoughts on governance of the nation and carry forward good tradition in our petroleum and petrochemical industry. We must focus on our advantages, enhance responsibility, strengthen cooperation, and be more hardworking and strict in our research. We have an ambition to be top-grade, and to realize it, we will abide by the principles of market-centered, value-oriented and innovation-driven, regard talent resource as our fundamentals and party’s work and corporate culture as our support, make great efforts to keep advantages on our three kinds of research field and provide technologic support and economic value for chemical engineering and material industry of SINOPEC.
