LCBR Industrial production technology

LCBRis a kind of butadiene polymer, which is prepared by alkyl lithium asinitiator, and anionic polymerization of butadiene in non-polar solvent.Compared with Ni, Co, Ti, Fe and rare earth catalyst systems, the Cis and Transisomers of LCBR show random distribution, which has excellent cold resistance,especially Low temperature flexibility. In addition, LCBR is characterized bylight color, transparency, gel-free and high purity, at the same time with acold flow tendency. LCBR is used as the first choice of impact modification forPS and ABS resin.

LCBR for high gloss HIPS and continuous bulk ABSmodification

Because of shallow color,transparence, high purity, low gel content and solution viscosity, LCBR 1302 isthe ideal impact modifier for HIPS and ABS with small dispersing particle sizein the process of plastic modified. It provides the modified products highgloss and impact resistance.

LCBR1302 has completed the industrialization trial production, and been applied on200 kt ABS plant of Shanghai Gaoqiao Petrochemical. The application resultsshow that LCBR 1302 can be used instead of imported rubber to produce ABS8391,which can replace the range from 20% to 100%. After replacement the viscosityof the reaction system is decreased, the reaction parameters are controlledproperly, and the product quality fully meets the requirements of downstreamusers.

Non oil-extended LCBRfor tires

Non oil-extended LCBR3505 shows random distribution of Cis andTrans isomers, has excellent cold resistance, especially better low temperatureflexibility as one of radial tire tread compound currently. LCBR3505 haveexcellent resilience, low temperature compression deformation, wear resistance,aging resistance and oil resistance compared with NR, and good dynamicperformance.
  LCBR3505has good compatibility with other kinds of rubber. When LCBR3505 is used incombination with NR or SR, it has excellent processing property, at the sametime, its advantages of abrasion resistance, tensile strength and tear strengthwere given full play.

LCBR for general type HIPS modification

LCBR3515 has thecharacteristics of light color, transparency, high purity, low gel content andlow solution viscosity. It is an ideal impact modifier for HIPS and ABS withsmall dispersing particle size in the process of plastic modified. It providesthe modified products high gloss and impact resistance.

At present, LCBR3515 hasalready completed the industrial trial and been applied on PS plant of YanshanPetrochemical. The application results show that LCBR 3515 can be used insteadof imported rubber to produce HIPS. After replacement the reaction parameterscan be controlled normally, and the product satisfy completely the requirementsof downstream users.

Oil-extended LCBR fortires

Theoil-extended LCBR LCBR3535 has theadvantages of excellent processing property, small expansion of the mouth andsmooth surface, and good compatibility with other kinds of rubber. When it is used in combination with NR or SR, it has excellentprocessing property, at the same time, its advantages of abrasion resistance,tensile strength and tear strength were given full play.Compared with non oil-extendedrubber, LCBR3535 has better processing performance and tensile properties, andcan meet the higher requirements of processing technology.

LCBR for high gloss ABS modification

LCBR1403 has the characteristics of light color, transparency, medium Mooneyviscosity, low solution viscosity of 5% styrene, low gel content (gravimetricmethod is less than 100ppm). It is an ideal impact modifier for HIPS and ABSwith small dispersing particle size in the process of plastic modified. Itprovides the modified products high gloss and impact resistance.

LCBR 1403 has completed theindustrial trial production. The product color is less than 10APHA, the gelcontent averages 80ppm, reaching the international advanced level. The productwas applied in 100 kt bulk ABS plant of Shanghai Huayi Group. The comprehensiveperformance of ABS product is equal to the 730AX of Japanese AGMS.

LCBR for high impact ABSmodification

LCBR 1604 has the characteristics of light color,transparency, high Mooney viscosity, low solution viscosity of 5% styrene, verylow gel content (gravimetric method is less than 100ppm) and very highcoupling-efficiency, used as impact modifier for HIPS and ABS. LCBR1604 canimprove the impact resistance of the product in plastic modificationtwo-component system because of the large rubber particle size terminating thecrazing effectively. LCBR1604 has completed the industrialization trialproduction. The product color is lower than 10APHA, the gel content averages70ppm, reached international advanced level.
